A supplemental service concession agreement was entered into between the Company and KCRC on 23 August 2018 in respect of the Hong Kong Section of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link (now known as “High Speed Rail”) based on the form prescribed in the Existing Service Concession Agreement.
Further to the Government’s decision made in April 2008, MTR Corporation (MTR) commenced to plan and design the Hong Kong Section of Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link (hereinafter referred to “the XRL” or “the Project”), which is a committed cross boundary transport infrastructure project.

As stated in Section 2, there is only one designated project within 500m of the Project boundary (i.e., Hong Kong Section of Guangzhou - Shenzhen - Hong Kong Express Rail Link) and will potentially be constructing concurrently with this project.
One Designated Project defined by the EIAO, namely, Hong Kong Section of Guangzhou - Shenzhen - Hong Kong Express Rail Link will be implemented and within 500m of the Project boundary.
The Hong Kong Section of Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link (the Project) is approximately 26 km long, in a dedicated underground railway from the boundary at Huanggang to West Kowloon Terminus (WKT).
