Interns and Residents will be provided the same benefits as other temporary employees with respect to Life Insurance, Health Insurance, Dental Insurance, Bereavement Leave, Sick Leave, Workers' Compensation, Jury Duty Leave, Witness Leave, Military Leave, and Civil Service Examination Leave at the level agreed to by the County and the Coalition of County Employee Unions in the Memorandum of Understanding regarding the Fringe Benefits in effect during the term of this agreement.
Examination Leave for a Take Home Examination The actual duration of the examination up to a maximum of 4 hours for each examination.
The Doctor must give the Health Service’s Director of Medical Services at least four weeks’ written notice of their intention to access Examination Leave.
Payment of Examination Leave under this clause 49 must be made consistent with the roster or projected roster, excluding overtime and penalties.
A Doctor is entitled to a total amount of paid Examination Leave not exceeding eight rostered working days in any one year as described at clause 49.2 below.
Approval of Paid Examination Leave is at the discretion of the colleague's manager and will only be available if a colleague is undertaking an approved course of study through the Company's Education assistance program.
Part time employees who work more than four shifts a fortnight shall be entitled to Study and Examination Leave in accordance with this clause on a pro rata basis.
It is understood that Trainees shall not be paid compensation for time spent on Insurance Institute Courses or equivalent education, except as specified in Article 18.04, Examination Leave.
Examination Leave is available to full time employees and part-time employees who work four shifts or more per fortnight.
Seniority and benefits for full-time employees shall continue to accrue on Examination Leave.
