Estop definition

Estop means “[t]o stop, bar, or impede; to prevent; to preclude.” Black’s Law Dictionary, supra, at 551. “‘Estoppel’ means that a party is prevented by his own acts from claiming a right to detriment of other party who was entitled to rely on such conduct and has acted accordingly. Id. (citing Graham v. Asbury, 112 Ariz. 184, 186, 540 P.2d 656, 658 (1975)).

  • If the team is designated as an alternate by DARPA, the team leader shall return the E-stop system as specified by DARPA.

  • Where possible, DARPA will repair or replace defective E-stop units or parts at no cost providing the problem was caused by a defective system and not as a result of improper installation or operation by the team.

  • Relinquishment means that a person’s permanent license to practice medicine and surgery, osteopathic medicine and surgery, or administrative medicine is deemed abandoned if the person fails to renew or reinstate the license within five years after its expiration. A license that has been relinquished is no longer valid or renewable. Relinquishment is not disciplinary in nature.
