  • Examples of abuse of ESST or sick leave include but are not limited to the following: using leave for reasons other than listed in this policy such as not actually being sick or needing to care for another person, taking leave with the intent to extend the weekend; consistently depleting the balance of accumulated leave suggesting that leave is being used in lieu of vacation time.
