Epicenter definition

Epicenter means the location on the surface of the earth directly above the place where an earthquake originates.
Epicenter means the point on the surface of the earth, whether on land or on the ocean bottom, as reported by the Earthquake Reporting Agency, directly above the related Hypocenter.
