Enterprise Funds definition

Enterprise Funds means funds intended to be profit making and/or self-sustaining for providing product or services to the College’s customers. (See also “Auxiliary Funds.”) Examples of Auxiliary Fund or Enterprise Fund operations may include: bookstores; food services; printing services; medical/dental/science stores; student automotive and mechanical stores; and miscellaneous student stores for the resale of books and computers for instruction.
Enterprise Funds means funds that are used to account for city operations which funds are financed and operated in a manner similar to private business enterprises where the intent is that the costs, expenses, including depreciation, of providing services to the public be financed or recovered primarily through user charges; or where a periodic determination of revenues earned, expenses incurred, or net income is appropriate for capital maintenance, public policy, management control, accountability or other purpose. Such funds shall utilize the accrual basis of accounting.
