English Language Development definition

English Language Development. (ELD) shall mean a classroom or class period will be designated ELD if the purpose of the class is to develop the English language proficiency of English learner (EL) students. At the elementary level ELD will be part of any classroom which contains 40% or more designated English learners (EL).
English Language Development or “ELD” shall mean the teaching of English language skills to students who are in the process of learning English and includes Designated ELD and Integrated ELD for purposes of this Agreement.
