Energised means connected to a source of electrical supply.

Energised or “Energisation” means the taking of any step whereby an electrical current can flow through a Connection Point;

• THE USER’S RIGHT TO BE AND TO REMAIN CONNECTED TO THE COMPANY’S DISTRIBUTION SYSTEM Subject to the terms and conditions of the DCUSA and this BCA, the User shall, from the Commencement Date have the right for the User’s Distribution System to be, and to remain, Connected to the Company’s Distribution System at the Connection Point(s) specified herein, and (subject to the DCUSA and this BCA) the right to be and remain Energised.

• The Company shall on request by the User inform the User of its reasonable requirements for the details by reference to which Metering Points to be Energised, De-energised or Re-energised are to be identified.

• No Party shall Energise or permit to be Energised any Exit Point or Exit Point on any Contestable Works prior to the Adoption Date.

• The Retailer is liable to pay charges in respect of an ICP from: the day the ICP is Energised or Re-energised; or if the Retailer is assuming responsibility for the ICP, the later of the Switch Event Date or the date that the ICP is Energised.

• Where such Apparatus is capable of being Energised from switchgear under the control of the User, the User shall provide the Company with an Operation, Isolation and Earthing (OIE) Certificate* confirming actions taken to ensure safety and, where requested, demonstrate that the actions taken are appropriate in the circumstances.

• Subject to the other provisions of this Agreement and the Grid Code, the User shall have the right for the User's Equipment at the Connection Site to be and remain Energised and Operational for the duration of this Supplemental Agreement.

• Where such apparatus is capable of being Energised from switchgear under the control of the User, the User shall provide the Company with an Operation, Isolation and Earthing (OIE) Certificate* confirming actions taken to ensure safety and, where requested, demonstrate that the actions taken are appropriate in the circumstances.
