Emergent/Emergency/Stat means required immediately (typically within 4 hours time); the sudden onset of acute signs or symptoms of sufficient severity that threaten or could permanently damage health, or result in a serious medical complication if treatment is delayed, up to and including death, and should be addressed as soon as possible.
