Electronic Charge definition

Electronic Charge means a charge which is initiated by giving an instruction in an authorised manner, through electronic equipment (such as an electronic terminal, computer, mobile device, telephone or ATM) but does not include a charge where the principal means of authorising the charge is based on comparing a signature to the signature on the back of your Card.

Electronic Charge means a charge which is initiated using electronic equipment (such as an electronic terminal, television, computer, tablet computer, telephone, mobile phone or ATM), and using a pass code, and that is covered by the ePayments Code. This does not include a charge that is authenticated by comparing a manual signature with a specimen signature on the back of a Card. ePayments Code means the ePayments Code issued by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission and includes any subsequent amendments or replacements that the we adopt. Identifier means information that you or an Additional Card Member knows but is not required to keep secret and must provide to perform a charge (such as a Card number). By using your account (or by signing and keeping, or activating the Card), you agree to the terms of this agreement. Please read this agreement thoroughly and keep it for your reference. You agree that it is your responsibility to ensure that any Additional Card Members are aware of these terms. Use of your Card(s)/Pass Codes To prevent misuse of your account, you must ensure that you and any Additional Card Members: ƒ sign the Card in ink as soon as received; ƒ keep the Card secure at all times; ƒ regularly check that you still have the Card in your possession; ƒ do not let anyone else use the Card; ƒ ensure that you retrieve the Card after making a charge; ƒ never give out your Card details, except when using the Card in accordance with this agreement; and ƒ follow any activation process we tell you about, as soon as possible. ƒ keep electronic devices you use to make payments or access your Account such as mobile phones, tablets and computers safe and secure, and make sure they are password protected. To protect your pass codes, you must ensure that you and any Additional Card Members comply with the following guidelines: ƒ memorise the pass code; ƒ destroy our communication informing you of the pass code (if applicable); ƒ do not write the pass code on the Card; ƒ do not keep a record of the pass code with or near the Card or account details; ƒ do not tell the pass code to anyone; ƒ if you select a pass code, do not choose a code that can easily be associated with you...
