Electronic case file definition

Electronic case file means the dataset that includes any document, information, data, or other item created, collected, received, or maintained by the Maine Judicial Branch in connection with a specific case that is readable through the use of an electronic device. The electronic case file does not include anything that is not a court record as defined in these rules.
Electronic case file or "ECF” means the portion of the client record of service created and/or stored in an electronic case management system.
Electronic case file means an assemblage of the items pertaining to a single case or matter under a single docket number electronically submitted to the Judiciary’s electronic filing system and stored in its temporary data store by a registered user via the electronic filing system website, sent by interface from another agency, or electronically filed by the court via the electronic filing system website and any paper or fax document that was scanned by the court and electronically stored into the data store.
