Kerma or "K" means the quantity defined by the International Commission on Radiation Units and Measurements. The kerma is the quotient of dEtr by dm, where dEtr is the sum of the initial kinetic energies of all charged particles liberated by uncharged particles in a mass dm of materials; thus K=dEtr/dm, in units of J/kg, where the special name for the units of kerma is gray (Gy). When the materials is air, the quantity is referred to as "air kerma."
Panchayat means an institution (by whatever name called) of self-government constituted under article 243B, for the rural areas;
EMMA means the Electronic Municipal Market Access system as described in 1934 Act Release No. 59062 and maintained by the MSRB for purposes of the Rule.
IMRO means the Irish Music Rights Organisation CLG.
STU means the Board or the Government company notified by the respective State Government under Sub-section (1) of Section 39 of the Act;
WADA means the World Anti-Doping Agency.
Seaplane means an aeroplane capable normally of taking off from and alighting solely on water;
MOHLTC means the Minister or the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care, as the context requires;
Legionella means a genus of bacteria, some species of which have caused a type of pneumonia called Legionnaires Disease.
HOD means the Head of the Department concerned.
Tabarru’ means donation for the purpose of solidarity and cooperation among the Takaful Participants and to be used to help all Takaful Participants in times of misfortune. In the context of the Company, Tabarru’ will be allocated into the Participants’ Risk Fund.
ZAR means South African Rand, the lawful currency of South Africa.
Loft means an intermediary floor on a residual space in a pitched roof; above normal floor level with a maximum height of 1.5 metres and which is constructed or adopted for storage purposes;
SERFF means the system for electronic rate and form filing. SERFF is a proprietary NAIC computer-based application that allows insurers and other entities to create and submit rate, rule and form filings electronically to the commissioner.
seaman ’ means an individual (except scientific personnel, a sailing school instruc- tor, or a sailing school student) engaged or employed in any capacity on board a vessel.
BEO means a written order issued by the Contractor to the Judicial Council that confirms the Judicial Council’s specific instructions and orders with respect to the Program on any one or more of the following, but does not alter any of the Agreement’s terms and conditions: (i) meeting and/or function room(s) and set-up requirements and/or rental charges; (ii) meal menus and prices and set-up requirements; and/or (iii) audio-visual equipment and set-up requirements and/or rental charges. BEO’s will be approved and signed by the Judicial Council’s representative, as set forth in Exhibit B.
WURA means the Winding-Up and Restructuring Act (Canada).
We/Us/Our means TATA AIG General Insurance Company Limited.
SAQA means the South African Qualifications Authority established by section 3 of the South African Qualifications Authority Act, 1995 (Act 58 of 1995);
KIID means key investor information document;
MVAR means megavolt ampere of reactive power.
Growler means any refillable, resealable container complying with federal law.
DARO means "days after the effective date for award of the contractual action".
Diocese means the Church of England diocese in which the Academies are situated;
Qard means a contract of lending money whereby the borrower is obliged to repay the equivalent amount to lender.
