Effective stack height definition
Effective stack height means the sum of the stack height and the rise of the stack gases above the stack due to the exit velocity and the temperature of the gases.
Effective stack height means the distance to the plume center line from the ground as determined by adding the plume rise to the physical height of the stack.
Effective stack height means the height equal to the lesser of 1) 30 meters, or 2) H + 1.5 L, where H is the height of, and L is the lesser dimension (height or width) of, the source, or nearby structure, or, 3) such other height as is demonstrated to ensure that emissions do not result in excessive pollutant concentrations in the immediate vicinity of the source as a result of atmospheric downwash, eddies, or wakes which may be created by the source, nearby structures or terrain.

Effective stack height means the sum of the physical stack height and the plume rise as calculated according to the current practice of the Department of Environmental Management as described in the Rhode Island Guideline for Air Quality Modeling.
