E-code definition

E-code means a Supplementary Classification of External Causes of Injury and Poisoning, ICD-9-CM, where environmental events, circumstances, and conditions are the cause of injury, poisoning, and other adverse effects as specified in the ICD-9-CM manual and the conventions of coding.
