Duty/shift definition

Duty/shift means a single, continuous period of work required to be given by an employee, excluding overtime, on-call and call-back. A duty shall be defined by a starting and finishing time. Duties shall be morning (AM), afternoon (PM) duties or night duties. When a major part of a duty falls on a particular day the whole duty shall be regarded as being worked on that day.
Duty/shift shall be defined, for the purpose of clarifications, as being equal to twelve (12) hours, based upon the two (2) platoon system.
Duty/shift means a regularly scheduled period of work per day pursuant to Article 9.

In these circumstances the employee shall be paid a minimum of one hour, or for actual working and travel time whichever is the greater, at the overtime clause 8.3.1 or if the employee has worked in excess of eight hours or the rostered shift whichever is the greater, is called out to a patient in the community, they will be paid at the overtime rate as per clause 8.3.2.
Duty/shift means, for the purposes of calculating pay entitlement, vacation, sick credit, a twelve hour (12) shift for Suppression Employees and a ten (10) hour shift for Non-Suppression Employees.
