DUAT definition

DUAT means Direitos de Uso e Aproveitamento da Terra, (Rights to use and benefit from the land), a statutory recognition given to citizens and local communities of their rights to use and benefit from the land they occupy based on customary and good faith occupation, as set forth in the Recipient’s 1997 Land Law, as amended, and the 2004 Constitution.
