DSPT definition

DSPT means the NHS Data Security and Protection Toolkit;
DSPT the Data Security and Protection Toolkit, which is an online self-assessment tool that allows organisations to measure their performance against the National Data Guardian’s 10 data security standards;
DSPT means the NHS England Data Security and Protection Toolkitan annual self-assessment tool as a requirement of NHS England for any organisation to achieve a minimum of ‘standards met’ where they process patient level data. ‘‘ICO’’ means the Information Commissioner’s Office as UK Supervisory Authority. “ISO27001’’ is an international standard to manage information security, published by the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO) and revised in 2022. ‘‘ISO9001’’ is an international standard to manage Quality Management System requirements.

Examples of DSPT in a sentence

  • If ‘standards met’ has not been achieved (organisation failed, not required to complete the DSPT, DSPT expired) organisations will be asked to confirm their plans (including the completion of the DSPT voluntarily) and share the relevant details.

  • Information governance and security‌ Each partner organisation shall comply with Data Security & Protection Toolkit (DSPT) assertions, and make it a condition of employment that all staff (including assigned staff) who may have access to the health or social care record shall abide by the rules and policies of that organisation in relation to information governance.

  • DSPT has all corporate rights, power and ------------------ authority to enter into this Agreement and to consummate the transactions contemplated hereby.

  • Each partner organisation shall comply with: the DSPT as appropriate to its organisation type and adhere to robust information governance management and accountability arrangements, including effective security event reporting and management; and the requirement to annual self-assessment and regularly audit its compliance with the DSPT relevant to its organisation type, and report on its own assessment performance, relevant audits and improvement opportunities to the relevant Information Governance Group.

  • The execution and delivery of this Agreement do not, and the consummation of the transactions contemplated hereby will not conflict with, or result in any breach of, any of the material terms, provisions or conditions of any material agreement or instrument to which DSPT is a Party or by which DSPT is bound.

  • The Recipient agrees to have a plan in place to reach the required standards as set out in the Data Security and Protection Toolkit (where their DSPT status is currently ‘standards not met’) and, where requested, engage on this issue with NHS Digital regional leads.
