Dry hydrant definition

Dry hydrant means a non-pressurized pipe system permanently installed in lakes, rivers, tributaries, or ponds for the purpose of providing a suction supply of water to a fire department tank truck.
Dry hydrant means a non-pressurized pipe system that: (A) Is readily accessible to fire department apparatus from a proximate public road, (B) provides for the withdrawal of water by suction to such fire department apparatus, and (C) is permanently installed into an existing lake, pond or stream that is a dependable source of water.
Dry hydrant means a fire hydrant which is installed to provide access to water from a lake, pond, or other body of water rather than water from a public or private water supply system.
