LOCAL 56 The Foothills School Division 2020–2024 Collective Agreement Page 2 of 58 This collective agreement is made this of 2024 between The Foothills School Division (School Division) and The Alberta Teachers’ Association (Association).
Promotion recommendations will be initiated by the Department Chairperson’s Division School ▇▇▇▇; Department Chairs shall be informed through the annual evaluation process whether or not they have been recommended.
All pending instances of jury duty shall be reported to the Division School ▇▇▇▇ immediately upon the receipt of notice thereof.

If a Division, School, Department, or Program holds an in person or synchronous, collective virtual orientation for bargaining unit employees at the start of their employment, the Union will be given an opportunity to provide information to bargaining unit employees in attendance during that orientation in the same manner and to the same extent that student groups participate in these orientation programs.
Such participation may include participating and/or deliberating in Division, School or department level meetings and decision-making committees, to provide feedback on curricular issues relevant to courses they teach or have taught.
When a Political Sub-Division, School, and/or Not-For-Profit Organization utilizes this contract all references to the “State” are hereby replaced with the Name of the Using Sub- Division, School, or the name of the Not-For-Profit Organization.
If a Division, School, Department, or Program provides an asynchronous virtual orientation for bargaining unit employees at the start of their employment, the Union may provide content to be included in the materials provided to bargaining unit employees in connection with such orientation.
The materials provided by the Union must be formatted in a manner acceptable to the Division, School, Department, or Program.
The Red Deer School Division (School Division) and the Alberta Teachers' Association agree to the addition of the position of Certified Director in the collective agreement.
