Each member of the Disciplinary Panel shall serve for a term of two calendar years from the date of his or her appointment, and until the due appointment of his or her successor, or until his or her earlier resignation or removal, with or without cause, as a member of the Disciplinary Panel.
The Chief Judge shall appoint three judges of the Court to be known as the Disciplinary Panel and shall appoint two additional judges to serve as alternate members.
Upon presentation to the Disciplinary Panel of a certified copy of a court record demonstrating that an attorney subject to these Rules has been found guilty of a felony in any court, the attorney shall be immediately suspended from practicing before this Court by order of the Disciplinary Panel, whether the finding resulted from a plea of guilty or nolo contendere or from a verdict after trial or otherwise, and regardless of the pendency of an appeal.
The Disciplinary Panel may defer entry of the order or set aside an order of suspension when it appears to the Panel in the interest of justice to do so.
The Disciplinary Panel may, in its discretion, schedule a hearing.
