Dilapidated sign definition

Dilapidated sign means a sign that is structurally unstable, weathered or faded to the point of being unreadable or difficult to read, or which advertises a business or service that no longer exists. Historic signs may be exempted from this requirement by the Zoning Administrator.
Dilapidated sign means a sign which is shabby, neglected, in disrepair, or which fails to perform its intended function of conveying a message. Characteristics of a dilapidated sign include, but are not limited to, structural support failure, a sign not supported as originally constructed, panels or borders missing or falling off, intended messages have deteriorated to the point where they cannot be interpreted by the motoring public, or a sign which is blocked by vegetation outside the highway right of way.

  • Animated sign means a sign which induces motion or rotation of any part by mechanical, or artificial means, or subdued color changes. An animated sign is not an EMC sign.

  • Illuminated sign means a sign with an artificial light source incorporated internally or externally for the purpose of illuminating the sign.

  • Ground sign means a sign directly supported by the ground without the aid of any other building or structure, which sign includes the names of owner(s) and/or tenant(s) and address and/or advertises goods, products, services or events that are sold, offered, or provided on the premises on which the sign is located and does not include any other sign defined in this By-law;

  • Abandoned sign means a sign located on property which becomes vacant and unoccupied for a period of ninety (90) days or more, or any sign which pertains to a time, event or purpose which no longer applies;

  • Billboard Sign means an outdoor sign that advertises goods, products, or services that are not sold or offered on the property where the sign is located, and is either single faced or double faced;
