digital set top box definition

digital set top box means a television receiver whose function is to receive television programmes in digital form, and which cannot itself display, or record or otherwise store such programmes;
digital set top box means any digital device (other than a Traditional Product, a personal computer or other multi-purpose device, as well as, components designed therefor), the principal design and function of which is the reception, decoding and conditional access of MPEG (or equivalent) digital broadcast signals, irrespective of the broadcast method (e.g., cable, satellite), of programming services such as television.
