Differentiality definition

Differentiality is therefore the means through which a word receives a meaning by establishing a relationship of difference between itself and other words (e.g. that something is ‘red’ is only possible to define unless by referring to everything that is not ‘red’ [example borrowed from Matthews 2000:111n20]).
