destitute child definition

destitute child means a child who is an orphan or neglected or has been abandoned or is a vagabond and who lives on pavement or in a hutment or slum or railway platform or bus stop or such other place; and
destitute child means a child under the age of eighteen who is in a state of want or suffering due to lack of sufficient food, clothing, shelter, or medical or surgical care and:
destitute child means a child who, through no neglect on the part of the parent, guardian or custodian, is a "destitute child" as defined in paragraph (a), (b) or (d) of subdivision three of section three hundred seventy-one of the social services law.
