Designating Body definition
Designating Body means a body appointed by a Member State to a Sectoral MRA, with responsibility to identify and monitor Conformity Assessment Bodies as specified under this Framework Agreement and the relevant Sectoral MRAs.

Any Party, through its Designating Body, may withdraw its Inspection Service from the list of accepted Inspection Services by notifying the JSC through the ASEAN Secretariat with relevant written justifications.
The JSC shall consider an application by a Party, through its Designating Body, to reinstate an Inspection Service whose participation has been withdrawn or terminated.
Each Designating Body will identify Testing Laboratories and/or Certification Bodies as applicable for listing, in accordance with Article 11 and procedures set forth in this Sectoral MRA.

(12) "New research and development equipment" means tangible personal property that: (A) a deduction applicant installs after June 30, 2000, and on or before the approval deadline determined under section 9 of this chapter, in an economic revitalization area in which a deduction for tangible personal property is allowed; (B) consists of: (i) laboratory equipment; (ii) research and development equipment; (iii) computers and computer software; (iv) telecommunications equipment; or (v) testing equipment; (C) the deduction applicant uses in research and development activities devoted directly and exclusively to experimental or laboratory research and development for: (i) new products, new uses of existing products, or improving or testing existing products; or (ii) space transportation services, including the ingress and egress into low earth orbit and near orbit. Article 1 (1) 1) Mutual Recognition Arrangements (MRAs) are arrangements between two or more parties to mutually recognise or accept some or all aspects of one another’s conformity assessment results (e.g. test reports and certificates of compliance).
