delivery by value definition

delivery by value or “DBV” means a transaction type, described as “delivery by value”, used to deliver and receive securities within CREST or through the CGO system, as the case may be;
delivery by value means a transaction effected through the CGO, CREST or another book entry transfer system whereby Collateral is provided in the form of a package of securities determined by the operator of the system of a particular aggregate value and "delivered-by-value "shall be construed accordingly; "Equivalent Collateral" "Collateral equivalent to" or in relation to any Collateral provided under this Agreement means securities, cash or other property, as the case may be, of an identical type, nominal value, description and amount to particular Collateral so provided and shall include the certificates and other documents of or evidencing title and transfer in respect of the foregoing (as appropriate).
