Definite Term definition

Definite Term means an invitation of limited duration with a fixed end date
Definite Term shall have the meaning indicated in subsection (e) of Clause Twelfth of this Agreement.

Examples of Definite Term in a sentence

  • Definite Term appointments shall terminate at the date specified within the letter of appointment.

  • The employment of Research Assistants appointed to Definite Term Appointments who have successfully completed their probationary period but with less than one (1) year of continuous service may be terminated by the Departmental Chair by giving the Employee two (2) weeks written notice of termination or the equivalent pay in lieu of notice.

  • For the purposes of assigning sections to Members holding Seniority Status in multi-section courses, if such Member is appointed to a Definite Term Appointment in the full-time Bargaining Unit, the Member shall be treated as if they had accrued Seniority Points for any courses taught during their Definite Term Appointment.

  • The employment of Research Assistants appointed to Definite Term Appointments with one (1) year but less than three (3) years of continuous service may be terminated by the Departmental Chair by giving the Employee four (4) weeks written notice of termination or the equivalent pay in lieu of notice.

  • The employment of Research Assistants appointed to Definite Term Appointments with three (3) years but less than five (5) years of continuous service may be terminated by the Departmental Chair by giving the Employee six (6) weeks written notice of termination or the equivalent pay in lieu of notice.

  • Lecturers hired on a Definite Term contract may not apply for continuing status.

  • Members on Definite Term Appointments are ineligible for a reduced workload under this Article.

  • Lay-off of Members who hold ongoing appointments (whether tenured, tenure-track, or continuing) or Definite Term appointments (in advance of their normal expiry date) is an exceptional action which may occur only in accordance with this Article.

  • Research Associates who have been appointed to successive Definite Term Part-Time Appointments for a continuous period of five (5) years or more shall qualify for severance payments pursuant to the present article.

  • Members on Definite Term appointments are ineligible to serve as Department Chairs.

Related to Definite Term

  • Non-Compete Term means in the case of termination for any reason, the period from the Effective Date to the date ending 2 years following the date of termination.

  • Fixed Term shall have the meaning given such term in Section 2.3.

  • Contract Term means period of performance set forth in the paragraph entitled “Term” contained in Exhibit E.

  • Employment Commencement Date means the date on which the Employee first performs an Hour of Service.

  • Fixed Rate Term means a period commencing on a Business Day and continuing for 1, 2 or 3 months, as designated by Borrower, during which all or a portion of the outstanding principal balance of this Note bears interest determined in relation to LIBOR; provided however, that no Fixed Rate Term may be selected for a principal amount less than $100,000.00; and provided further, that no Fixed Rate Term shall extend beyond the scheduled maturity date hereof. If any Fixed Rate Term would end on a day which is not a Business Day, then such Fixed Rate Term shall be extended to the next succeeding Business Day.
