Definite Leave definition

Definite Leave means those leaves of absence outlined in Article 16 Vacation Leave, Article 17.1 Sick Leave and Article 19 Leaves of Absence, excluding Article 19.7
Definite Leave is a general leave of absence without pay that does not exceed one (1) calendar year in duration where the employee retains the right to return to their specific position.
Definite Leave means an unpaid leave of absence for a maximum of twelve (12) months.

Examples of Definite Leave in a sentence

  • The provisions of Article 18.5 (Reinstatement from Definite Leave) shall also apply.

  • Employees on Workers' Compensation shall be considered to be on Definite Leave and benefits will continue to accrue as per Article 20.

  • At the conclusion of Definite Leave an employee returns to his or her former or similar position.

  • An employee who is elected or appointed to a full-time position in any of the bodies to which the Union is affiliated or accepts a paid staff position with the Union may be granted definite or indefinite leave without pay in accordance with Articles 18.1.1 (Definite Leave) or 18.2.1.6 (Indefinite Leave) whichever is applicable.

  • Note:  For permanent full-time employees the payment is 95% of their bi-weekly salary rate in effect immediately prior to the commencement of the Definite Leave of Absence for Maternity, Paternity or Adoption.

  • Definite Leave of absence means leave from a full-time or part-time position for a predetermined period of time.
