This Program is designed to help Program Participants install the DCFC charging infrastructure needed to enable drivers to refuel their light-duty electric vehicles.
All DCFC chargers installed at covered project sites shall: • Be networked through Wi-Fi, cellular (4G and above), or Ethernet; • Be capable of at least a 100 kW power output; • Support remote start capabilities for, at minimum, payment via a toll-free number; • If requiring payment, have a mobile payment device physically located on each charger dispenser or on a kiosk serving the charger dispensers; • Not require a membership for payment.
At least 33% of Level 2 connectors at each project site must be SAE J1772 connectors, and at least 33% of DCFC connectors at each project site must be CCS1 connectors.
The Grantee shall maintain reliable operations of all Level 2 charging ports during all typical project site operational hours for at least four years, and all DCFC charging ports for at least six years, following their first day of operations.
The Grantee shall complete installation and begin operations of all charging ports on each project site according to the required timelines: • Level 2 charging ports only: within 270 days following contract execution; • DCFC charging ports only: 580 days following contract execution; and • Combination of at least one Level 2 charging port and at least one DCFC charging port: within 580 days following contract execution.
Our purpose is to facilitate the adoption of more efficient technologies such as Level 2 and DCFC EV charging stations and charging management software, with the goal of maximizing the added value of our clients while contributing to carbon emissions offset.
The whole number of parking spaces requiring EVSE as set forth in Section 4.5 may be reduced by five (5) for each DCFC at the Site.
If fewer than five (5) parking spaces require EVSE, one (1) DCFC will satisfy the requirement.
Distribution Line and Service Extensions: Because SCE will design and install the Utility-Side Infrastructure at no cost to Program Participant, sections in Rules 15 and 16 that address customers’ responsibilities or options related to the Utility-Side Infrastructure are not applicable to Program Participants while participating in the Charge Ready DCFC Program.
The Company shall recover the cost of DCFC make-ready investments via a regulatory asset in a future rate case, with balances accruing carrying charges at the monthly Prime Rate.
