Data at Rest definition

Data at Rest means Electronic Information which is stored physically in any electronic form (e.g. databases, data warehouses, spreadsheets, archives, tapes, off-site backups, mobile devices etc.).
Data at Rest means all data in storage. Data at Rest includes but is not limited to archived data, data which is not accessed or changed frequently, files stored on hard drives, USB thumb drives, files stored on backup tape and disks, and also files stored off-site or on a storage area network (SAN).
Data at Rest. As defined in Section 16.8.

Examples of Data at Rest in a sentence

  • This module is a toolkit that provides the most commonly used cryptographic primitives for a wide range of applications, including primitives needed for VPN (Virtual Private Network), TLS (Transport Layer Security), DAR (Data-At-Rest), and DRM (Digital Rights Management) clients.

  • For its Data-At-Rest encryption of the data partition on the internal Flash (where the TOE stores all user data and all application data), the TOE uses an AES-128 bit DEK with XTS feedback mode to encrypt the entire partition using dedicated application processor hardware.

  • FDP_DAR_EXT.1: The TOE provides Data-At-Rest AES-128 XTS hardware encryption for all data stored on the TOE in the user data partition (which includes both user data and TSF data).

  • Thus a user can select which applications will have their data included in the backup; however, for a given application, the user cannot specify what data is included—all data belonging to that application will be included.FDP_DAR_EXT.1: The TOE provides Data-At-Rest AES-256 XTS hardware encryption for all data stored on the TOE in the user data partition (which includes both user data and TSF data).

  • For its Data-At-Rest encryption of the data partition on the internal Flash (where the TOE stores all user data and all application data), the TOE uses an AES-256 bit DEK with XTS feedback mode to encrypt the entire partition using dedicated application processor hardware.

  • These primitive cryptographic functions are used to implement security protocols such as TLS and HTTPS and also to encrypt Data-At-Rest (including the generation and protection of keys and key encryption keys) used by the TOE.

  • Henry Furnace Co. (Moncrief, Southaire), Elyria, Ohio Last listed in 1980.

  • For its Data-At-Rest encryption of the user data partition on the internal Flash (where the TOE stores all user data and all application data), the TOE uses the AES-256 bit DEK in CBC mode to encrypt the entire partition.

  • The TOE’s clearing of the Data-At-Rest DEK follows the requirements of FCS_CKM_EXT.4.FCS_CKM_EXT.6: The TOE generates salt nonces (which are just salt values used in WPA2) using its AES-256 CTR_DRBG.

  • Upon request, the TOE cryptographically erases the Data-At-Rest DEK protecting the user data partition, clears that key from memory, reformats the partition, and then reboots.

More Definitions of Data at Rest

Data at Rest. Data that resides in databases, files, or in storage;
Data at Rest. The database in Provider’s hosted solution is attached to an encrypted volume with a data key using the industry-standard AES-256 algorithm. Data in Transit – Customer is hosted in AWS GovCloud (US). The connection to Customer’s location is established using a site-to-site virtual private network (VPN) or over HTTP or TLS (HTTPS). When CJI is transmitted outside the boundary of a physically secure AWS data center, the transmission is encrypted utilizing FIPS 140-2 compliant ciphers with a symmetric cipher key strength of at least 128-bit strength.
Data at Rest. - means data held or stored on some form of storage system.
Data at Rest means stored or archived Data and includes, but is not limited to, Data stored on Information Technology Resources.
Data at Rest means the data is encrypted on the end device (disk drives)
