C1D1 definition

C1D1 means Class 1, Division 1, as defined by the National Fire Protection Agency, denoting a location where ignitable concentrations of flammable gasses or vapors may exist under normal operating conditions, may exist frequently because of repair or maintenance operations or because of leakage, or where breakdown or faulty operation of equipment or processes might release ignitable concentrations of flammable gases or vapors, and might also cause simultaneous failure of electric equipment.
