CSAC-A definition
CSAC-A means (as certified by Virginia’s Department of Health Professions) a certified substance abuse counseling assistant shall be qualified to perform, under appropriate clinical supervision or direction, the substance abuse treatment functions described in subsequent pages of this document.
Examples of CSAC-A in a sentence
Clinical staff must have, at a minimum, a CSAC-A credential, Certification as a Peer Recovery Specialist, or other clinical licensure in Virginia and must be knowledgeable about the biological and psychosocial dimensions of substance use disorders and mental illnesses and their treatment.
New staff without at least a CSAC-A credential will have six months from date of hire to obtain this credential.
