Crutches definition

Crutches means a staff or support designed to fit under or attach to each arm, including a walker, which improve a person's mobility that is otherwise severely restricted by a permanent physical injury or disability.

Examples of Crutches in a sentence

  • DME includes, but is not limited to:  Braces;  Canes;  Crutches;  Intermittent positive pressure breathing machine;  Hospital beds;  Standard outpatient oxygen delivery systems;  Traction equipment;  Walkers;  Wheelchairs; or  Any other items that are determined to be Medically Necessary by HPN’s Managed Care Program.

  • Covered durable medical equipment includes: • Canes; • Crutches; • Hospital beds and accessories; • Oxygen and oxygen supplies; • Pressure pads; • Volume ventilators; • Therapeutic ventilators; • Nebulizers and other equipment for respiratory care; • Traction equipment; • Walkers, wheelchairs and accessories; • Commode chairs and toilet rails; • Apnea monitors; • Patient lifts; • Nutrition infusion pumps; and • Ambulatory infusion pumps.

  • Such appliances may include braces, splints, shoe modifications, and special seating molds for wheelchairs Canes, Crutches, Walkers - a mobility aid Wheelchairs and Similar Equipment - such mobility aid appliances include manual and electric wheelchairs, power carts and scooters.
