CPPE definition

CPPE means the Centre for Pharmacy Postgraduate Education.

  • It is also a requirement for the Pharmacist(s) and/or Pharmacy Technician(s) at each Pharmacy to complete the most recent CPPE Declaration of Competence for Needle Syringe Provision within 6 months of commencing service provision.

  • A new accountable pharmacist/technician will be allowed 3 months to complete the required CPPE training/DoC to take over as the replacement pharmacist.

  • Pharmacists must incorporate this to complete a CPPE Declaration of Competence (DoC) for Supervised Consumption of Prescribed medicines and ensure it is reviewed regularly.

  • If the pharmacy does not have a full-time pharmacist, then at least 2 pharmacists who cover a minimum of 80% of the opening hours should complete the DoC and CPPE programme.

  • Subject to clause 1.4, Contractor will ensure the Services are delivered by Pharmacists with the relevant Centre for Pharmacy Postgraduate Education (CPPE) in place and according to the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) standards.

  • Pharmacists will be expected to evidence CPPE training (through DH) in order to deliver EHC, (attendance at the training launch event/annual update can be used as this evidence).

  • It is recommended that all pharmacists who act as the pharmacist in charge in any pharmacy providing the enhanced service will complete the current CPPE Distance Learning Pack for Drug use and Misuse or the RCGP Certificate in Management of Drug Misuse, or recognised equivalent.

  • Participating community pharmacies must ensure that a designated pharmacist has completed the current CPPE Distance Learning Pack for Drug Use and Misuse (or be willing to do so within 3 months) or the RCGP Certificate in Management of Drug Misuse.
