Consensual Contact definition

Consensual Contact means a voluntary interaction between an officer and a person, where a reasonable person would clearly understand that he or she is free to leave. The term includes, but is not limited to, the following categories of persons: (1) an alleged crime victim as to whom there is no reasonable suspicion that he or she committed or is committing a crime; (2) a witness as to whom there is no reasonable suspicion that he or she committed or is committing a crime;

Examples of Consensual Contact in a sentence

  • Enforced disappearance of persons means the arrest, detention or abduction of persons by, or with the authorization, support or acquiescence of, a State or a political organization, followed by a refusal to acknowledge that deprivation of freedom or to give information on the fate or whereabouts of those persons, with the intention of removing them from the protection of the law for a prolonged period of time.

  • Code of Ethics Contact Person means the Chief Compliance Officer or such person or persons as may be from time to time designated.
