Concrete Class. The required class, quality, of buried concrete will vary from location to location across the site. It is recommended that buried concrete is determined and designed in accordance with “BRE Special Digest 1:2005 Concrete in aggressive ground'. Reference should be made to the Ground Investigation factual report. Concrete class could be DS-4, AC3s but this could be a lower class (DS2, DS3) depending upon the plot location. Note 1: This is a plot where there is a high risk of ground shrinkage / swell or heave due to adjacent tree/s that have either been cut down and removed, or that are remaining, or that are to be planted as part of the overall site landscaping.
