Competency 9. EVALUATE PRACTICE WITH INDIVIDUALS, FAMILIES, GROUPS, ORGANIZATIONS, AND COMMUNITIES CW 9.1 Record, track, and monitor assigned cases accurately and according to field education agency policies and guidelines in Child Welfare Statewide Automated Child Welfare Information System (SACWIS). ACTIVITY: Complete necessary trainings/learn necessary policies regarding documentation and the CWS/CMS system and follow all applicable policies/guidelines. The Field Instructor will audit cases and discuss intern’s progress in supervision, level of skill, and plan to improve own practice. CW 9.2 Conduct accurate process and outcome data analysis of engagement, assessment, and interventions in child welfare practice. ACTIVITY: Select a case to complete an assessment, intervention plan, and evaluation plan, obtaining informed consent from the client(s) and necessary parties. Upon completion of the evaluation, discuss the results with the client(s) and necessary parties, develop future recommendations from a mezzo/macro perspective, and discuss all during supervision. COMPETENCY 9: EVALUATE PRACTICE WITH INDIVIDUALS, FAMILIES, GROUPS, ORGANIZATIONS, AND COMMUNITIES, continued CW 9.3 Use evaluation results to develop recommendations for improved interdisciplinary team coordination, as well as agency and community-level policies to best support families and the systems that serve them. ACTIVITY: Select a reliable and valid method for monitoring and evaluating practice interventions and use the results to recommend improvements child welfare policy and practice and discuss in supervision.
