Compelling Personal Importance definition

Compelling Personal Importance is used to mean an event or circumstance which is out of the ordinary, beyond the control of the employee, and one that cannot be handled before or after regular duty hours. This day may not be used in conjunction with any other leave without prior approval by the District Human Resources Department.

Examples of Compelling Personal Importance in a sentence

  • Compelling Personal Importance 5 Leave used shall be deducted from the employee's accrued sick leave.

  • Compelling Personal Importance Leave shall be deducted from the 26 employee’s accrued sick leave.

  • Compelling Personal Importance Leave not to exceed five (5) days per school year 24 may be used by the employee.

  • No more than two (2) days may be used for Compelling Personal Importance Leave in any school year.

  • A unit member shall submit a District Leave form to their supervisor, when possible, at least five (5) working days, but in any event no less than one (1) day prior to taking any leave for Matters of Compelling Personal Importance.

  • Each bargaining unit member shall be entitled to utilize at his/her election, earned sick leave days, for reasons of Compelling Personal Importance, or Personal Renewal.

  • The specific nature of the Personal Necessity/ Compelling Personal Importance must be indicated.

  • Leave for Matters of Compelling Personal Importance shall not be used for recreational activities, participation in union or concerted activities, extension of a holiday or a vacation period, or avoiding participation in specific work assignments.

  • Three (3) days of Compelling Personal Importance leave may be utilized at the discretion of the employee for the following reasons: (1) Religious Holidays, (2) Graduation Exercises, (3) Appearance in court as a litigant, (4) Delivering or retrieving a spouse from the hospital, and (5) Adoption proceedings.
