Community Sector definition

Community Sector has the meaning set out in paragraph A of the Background.
Community Sector means all the joint activity undertaken by people on the basis of shared concerns or interests. Its includes informal and invisible activities that connect people together in common effort and the variety of other ways which people participate in communities other than through voluntary organisations. Within Christchurch 67% of residents took part in a community-based activity in the 12 months prior to the Annual Survey (national average at 45%).8

Examples of Community Sector in a sentence

  • To the extent that a Member sells, leases or transfers its Permit or 33 Allocation to another individual or entity outside of the sector in compliance with section 2.04 of 34 the Sector Operations Plan the Maine Coast Community Sector and Sector Members shall have 35 seven (7) days to execute a right of first refusal.

  • The Maine Coast Community Sector will 8 also participate in the NMFS-designed Electronic Monitoring program.

  • The Gloucestershire Assembly for Voluntary and Community Sector, established in 2003, provides a county wide forum and strategic voice for the range of voluntary and community groups working in Gloucestershire.

  • The Sector Manager has held numerous fishermen’s meetings prior to September 1st, 2009 to engage fishermen in the development of the Northeast Coastal Community Sector operations plan and environmental assessment.
