Community control definition

Community control means the legal status of probation created by law and court order in cases involving a child who has been found to have committed a delinquent act. Community control is an individualized program in which the freedom of the child is limited and the child is restricted to non-institutional quarters or restricted to the child's home in lieu of commitment to the custody of the Department of Juvenile Justice.
Community control means a form of intensive, supervised custody in the community, including surveillance on weekends and holidays, administered by officers with restricted caseloads. Community control is an individualized program in which the freedom of an offender is restricted within the community, home, or noninstitutional residential placement and specific sanctions are imposed and enforced.

Day treatment probation program types include: vocational programs, marine programs, juvenile justice alternative schools, training and rehabilitation programs, and gender specific programs.

  • The Lead Partner shall ensure that expenditures of each partner have been verified and ensure that the expenditures are in accordance with national and Community control requirements.
