Coastal AE Zone definition

Coastal AE Zone means the portion of the Coastal High Hazard Area with wave heights between 1.5 feet and 3.0 feet and bounded by a line labeled the “Limit of Moderate Wave Action” (LiMWA) on a Flood Insurance Rate Map (FIRM). VE Zone floodplain construction standards are applied to development, new construction and substantial improvements in the Coastal AE Zone. Note: The 2012 International Residential Code (IRC) refers to the Coastal AE as the Coastal A Zone.
