CO2 plume definition

CO2 plume means the dispersing volume of CO2 in the geological formation;
CO2 plume means the physical extent underground, in three dimensions, of the free-phase and dissolved CO2 stream.
CO2 plume means the physical extent underground, in three dimensions, of an injected CO2 stream.

Examples of CO2 plume in a sentence

  • Upon the start of injection, appropriate survey methods will need to be used at regular intervals to monitor the movement of the injected CO2 plume to ensure that plume behaviour is as expected and, if not, to plan remediation options.

  • The results from the direct and indirect monitoring methods described in subsections 5.2(b)(3)(D) and (E) must be used to update the AOR delineation pursuant to Section 2.4, determine if any corrective action is necessary, and to establish if the CO2 plume has stabilized.

  • The project aimed at experimental in-situ work to study near-field distribution and dispersion of the CO2 plume emerging at about 800 m depth where liquid CO2 would be emitted from a nozzle.

  • Using a walk-away DAS time-lapse VSP for CO2 plume monitoring at the Quest CCS Project.

  • The rise in probability over time is due to the progressive spreading of the CO2 plume which may reach abandoned wells.

  • Firstly, Australian support is directly integrated into the ASEC planning and implementation system.

  • The predicted width of the subsurface CO2 plume was greater for Release 2 than 1 (Supplement 1b and d), which resulted in a wider zone of surface leakage fluxes (i.e., spreading to ~5 m from the well trace, versus to 2.5 m) (Supplement 1a and c).

  • Repeat vertical seismic profile (VSP) monitoring has been able to visualise the developing CO2 plume subsurface, which has not been detected beyond the expected area.
