Classification Group definition

Classification Group means a listing of job title(s) that are functionally related to one another in such a way that duties, responsibilities, and qualifications within the classification group permit incumbents to transfer skills and experiences from one job within the classification group to another. The listing of jobs within the classification group are in rank order, with the most difficult and/or demanding jobs listed at the top. Example: In the Clerical/Secretarial classification group, the Administrative Assistant, Program Assistant, and Clerical Assistant job titles are in rank of difficulty respectively. Thus, the skills and experiences involved in performing higher ranked job functions, in general, are presumed to be transferable to jobs ranked below them. Incumbents of lower ranked jobs are not presumed to have the skills and/or experiences necessary to perform higher ranked jobs within the classification group. (Note: A classification group may consist of a single job classification.)

  • The discount for each item on contract will be automatically assigned based on the Product Classification Group and Classification Description Subgroup associated with that item.

The listing of classifications within the classification group are in rank order, with the most difficult and/or demanding jobs listed at the top. (Note: A classification group may consist of a single job classification.) The “anniversary date” is defined in Article 9 of the Agreement. An employee subject to “furlough” is required to work fewer hours or take extended unpaid leave on a temporary basis. Medical and dental benefits may be fully or partially paid by the district during the furlough period. An employee subject to “layoff” is formally separated from the organization and receives no continuation of benefits.

Classification Group means a group of positions that involve similar duties and responsibilities, requires similar qualifications, and which are properly designated by a common descriptive title indicating the general nature of the work. A classification may include only one position in some circumstances.

Related to Classification Group

  • Industry Classification Group means (a) any of the classification groups set forth in Schedule 1.01(c) hereto, together with any such classification groups that may be subsequently established by Moody’s and provided by the Borrower to the Lenders, and (b) up to three additional industry group classifications established by the Borrower pursuant to Section 5.12.

  • Classification plan means the orderly arrangement of positions within an agency into separate and distinct job families so that each job family will contain those positions which involve similar or comparable skills, duties and responsibilities [74:840 1.3].

  • Aggregation Group means either a Required Aggregation Group or a Permissive Aggregation Group as hereinafter determined.

  • Qualified Benefit Plan has the meaning set forth in Section 3.20(c).

  • Insurance group means the persons that comprise an insurance holding company system.

Solely for purposes of the limitations of Part 2 of this Article III, the Advisory Committee will treat employee contributions made to a defined benefit plan maintained by the Employer as a separate defined contribution plan. The Advisory Committee also will treat as a defined contribution plan an individual medical account (as defined in Code Section 415(l)(2)) included as part of a defined benefit plan maintained by the Employer and, for taxable years ending after December 31, 1985, a welfare benefit fund under Code Section 419(e) maintained by the Employer to the extent there are post-retirement medical benefits allocated to the separate account of a key employee (as defined in Code Section 419A(d)(3)).
