The only other non-native species encountered with Oregon Chub were Carp (a bottom feeder and generally vegetarian; 1 site), Pumpkinseed (a small-mouthed sunfish that feeds primarily on snails and hard-shelled aquatic invertebrates; 2 sites), and Largemouth Bass (a well-known predator on small fishes; 3 sites).
It is apparent that the recovery process has been inclusive, with participation of appropriate species experts and researchers involved with Oregon Chub.
Concerns regarding the potential adverse effects of other environmental stressors (e.g. siltation due to timber harvest, floods, water quality, aggradation, succession and irrigation withdrawals) are assessed primarily by the lack of evidence that they have had significant impacts on known populations of Oregon Chub or are widespread enough to impact the species in a significant portion of its range.
