Child Nutrition Programs definition

Child Nutrition Programs or “CNP” means federally funded programs administered by the Food and Nutrition Service (FNS). The programs are designed to help ensure that children receive nutritious meals and snacks to assist in promoting health and educational readiness. Programs serving nutritious meals and snacks are reimbursed for participating.
Child Nutrition Programs means school meal programs funded and regulated by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and includes the National School Lunch Program (NSLP), School Breakfast Program (SBP), [ Afterschool Snack Programs (ASP), ] Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), Summer Food Service Program (SFSP), and Special Milk Program (SMP).
Child Nutrition Programs refers collectively to the National School Lunch Program, the School Breakfast Program, the Summer Food Service Program for Children, and the Child and Adult Care Food Program.
