Changes in Work definition

Changes in Work. The District, without invalidating the contract and as provided by law, may order extra work or make changes by altering, adding to, or deducting from work, the contract sum being adjusted accordingly. All such work shall be executed under conditions of the original contract, except that any claim for extension of time caused thereby shall be adjusted at the time of ordering such change. Contractor shall increase the amounts of his payment and performance bonds in proportion to any increase in the contract price. In giving instructions, Architect shall have authority to make minor changes in work, not involving change in cost, and not inconsistent with the purposes of the building. Otherwise, except in an emergency endangering life or property, no extra work or change shall be made unless in pursuance of a written order from the District, and no claim for addition to contract sum shall be valid unless so ordered. Value of any such extra work, change, or deduction shall be determined at the discretion of the District in one or more of the following ways:

  • If the Project Officer agrees that such event or instructions involve extra cost to the Contractor, any additional compensation will be determined by one of the methods provided in the Changes in Work paragraph of these General Conditions as selected by the Project Officer.

Related to Changes in Work

  • Change Orders mean changes or modifications to any Construction Contract or any other contract with labor or material suppliers.

  • Project Schedule means a document that, with respect to each Phase of the Project, identifies, coordinates and integrates the anticipated design and construction schedules, the Contracting Authority’s and Owner's responsibilities, government authority reviews and other activities as are necessary for the timely completion of the Work.

  • Completion of work means completion of the entire contracted work. Exhaustion of quantity of any particular item mentioned in the bid document shall not imply completion of work or any component thereof.

  • Proposed Change Order (PCO means a document that informs Contractor of a proposed change in the Work and appropriately describes or otherwise documents such change including Contractor’s response of pricing for the proposed change.

  • Working Drawings means the final working drawings approved by Landlord, as amended from time to time by any approved changes thereto, and “Work” means all improvements to be constructed in accordance with and as indicated on the Working Drawings, together with any work required by governmental authorities to be made to other areas of the Building as a result of the improvements indicated by the Working Drawings. Landlord’s approval of the Working Drawings shall not be a representation or warranty of Landlord that such drawings are adequate for any use or comply with any Law, but shall merely be the consent of Landlord thereto. Tenant shall, at Landlord’s request, sign the Working Drawings to evidence its review and approval thereof. After the Working Drawings have been approved, Tenant shall cause the Work to be performed in accordance with the Working Drawings.

  • Scope of Work means the description of Services and Deliverables specified in the Contract and as may be amended.

  • Statement of Work means the description of activities performed in completing the Project, as specified in the Contract and as may be amended.

  • Change Order means a written order to the Contractor signed by the Contracting Officer, issued after execu- tion of the Contract, authorizing a change in the term or scope of the Contract.

  • DAY WORK means on item of work requiring the employment of labour with or without materials as the case may be, which, in the opinion of the Senior Engineer /Civil-in-charge, is not capable of being evaluated by the accepted methods of measurement or assessment and is paid for on the basis of the actual labour and materials utilised on the particular item of work referred to.

  • Punchlist means a list of items of Work to be completed or corrected by Contractor after Substantial Completion. Punchlists indicate items to be finished, remaining Work to be performed, or Work that does not meet quality or quantity requirements as required in the Contract Documents.

  • Base Building Work means the base building work for the Building as described in this Manual.

  • Baseline Schedule means the initial time schedule prepared by Contractor for Owner’s information and acceptance that conveys Contractor’s and Subcontractors’ activities (including coordination and review activities required in the Contract Documents to be performed by A/E and ODR), durations, and sequence of work related to the entire Project to the extent required by the Contract Documents. The schedule clearly demonstrates the critical path of activities, durations and necessary predecessor conditions that drive the end date of the schedule. The Baseline Schedule shall not exceed the time limit current under the Contract Documents.

  • Extra Work means any work which is determined by City to be necessary for the proper completion of the Project, but which the Parties did not reasonably anticipate would be necessary at the execution of this Agreement. Consultant shall not perform, nor be compensated for, Extra Work without written authorization from City’s Representative.

  • The Work means each and every activity required for the successful performance of the services described in Section II, the Terms of Reference.

  • Construction Change Directive means a written order prepared by Owner Parties and signed by Owner directing Contractor to perform a change in the Work prior to agreeing to a change, if any, to the Contract Time, schedule of performance of the Work, Contract Sum, or Contractor’s compensation.
