Champhai definition

Champhai consist of two words, “Cham” means “mastered leafs” and “phai” means “take out” or “to pull out.” Dr Lalthanliana in his book, mention that when the Hrangkhawl people entered Mizoram their chief was Damlukaia, in the Hill of Mawmrang he reigned. He had a large amount of cattles and his house was made of leather. The strongest man Saizahawla was from the Hrangkhawl tribe.
