Certification Categories. For purpose of this Article, the certification areas of the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education shall be utilized. Teachers with professional teacher status who have been laid off pursuant to a reduction in force shall be eligible for any benefits for which they are eligible under the federal law known as “COBRA.” Copies of layoff notices shall be sent to the Union.
