A result of this grant in this reporting period was the international workshop ‘Quantum Battles in Attoscience, co-funded by CECAM, which switched from being an in-person event to an online event (organised by ▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇ ▇▇▇▇▇, UCL and colleagues with some help from QUB) and was extremely successful.
The appointment will be subject to the endorsement of the Council of CECAM.
The general purpose of CECAM is to organize and promote the range of activities listed in Article 1 of the Convention in order to enhance European cooperation in computational research in biology, chemistry, engineering and physics.
The Consortium is represented on the Council of CECAM by the Italian Institute of Technology (IIT).
The "CECAM" status of the Node may be temporarily suspended to allow the Host organization, the Board of Directors and the CECAM Council to resolve any issues that may have arisen.
The Director and the CECAM administrative staff are located at the Headquarters (see article 4), where he/she also leads his/her research team.
Subject to such discussions in the Board of Directors, the SIMUL Node intends to participate in the following CECAM activities: developing leading-edge fundamental research on advanced computational methods at a national level; promoting collaborative enterprises, with a particular attention to engineering applications; organising workshops and schools.
The CECAM Council mandates its President to sign these agreements on its behalf.
If the Node Institution or Consortium already employs a suitable candidate, it consults the CECAM President or the CECAM Director about the appointment.
In particular, this Institution is supposed to develop and sustain: − an internationally recognised research programme at the frontiers of the scientific domain(s) of interest; − all cyber-infrastructures suitable for/required by the activity of the CECAM Node.
