Η εκπαίδευση και κατάρτιση με βάση την ικανότητα (CBET) είναι μια προσέγγιση στην ΕΕΚ, στην οποία καθορίζονται δεξιότητες, γνώσεις και συμπεριφορές για τον καθορισμό, την καθοδήγηση και τη συμβολή στην επίτευξη προτύπων ικανότητας, κυρίως μέσα σε ένα εθνικό πλαίσιο προσόντων.
Deisingler, (2011,p.6) defines CBET as “a way of approaching (vocational) training that places primary emphasis on what a person can do as a result of training (the outcome), and as such represents a shift away from an emphasis on the process involved in training (the inputs).

The basis of this method is the use of the t-plot as proposed by de Boer and modified by ▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ (▇▇▇▇▇▇▇ 1979) to take into account the level of adsorbant-adsorbate interaction expressed by the CBET value.
